JV Media Design - Our Process

Over the years we've learned that organization is as important a factor in a successfull project as the skills of team involved. Although each project we undertake is unique, we do follow a certain process at the beginning of each project to assure that it runs smoothly, is completed correctly and is completed within the time frame given.

Project Process 3

Phase 1
  • Step 1: We will review the answers you have giving to our Project Questionnaire. Next, we perform any research necessary into your industry to better understand your unique situation and needs.

  • Step 2: We will also schedule an in person or phone meeting to answer any pre-development questions.
Phase 2
  • Step 1: Here is where we combine all the information and ideas with our years of design experience to present you with initial concept designs. We will give you an easy to access, customized URL where you can review these. We work closely with you on revisions to generate the concept that will become the finished website. It is important in this phase for you as the client to address any concerns with us while concepts are being created and revised. It is also important to provide us with any of the content, images, or other materials we have requested of you.

  • Step 2: Before we begin to actually put your web pages together, we will refer back to the original site map (from the Project Questionnaire), make any modifications, and start planning the site organization and structure. If your project also includes multimedia such as Flash, we will begin to formulate a storyboard in this stage. This sometimes requires an additional meeting to go over any details for the multimedia portion of the project.

  • Step 3: If necessary, we will set up a lightbox of potential stock images to use in the project (and/or request any additional images from you). Image approvals will take place next.
Phase 3
  • Step 1: This is where your project begins to take on solid form. We will upload files to your customized URL where you can check the progress of your project. We keep a constant line of communication open during the entire project process.

  • Step 2: We will need the content (text, specific images, etc.) for your website so we can start populating the site pages. This is an important step! Delays can occur if we do not have the content to complete your site.

  • Step 1-3: When applicable we will need you to approve parts of the project before moving on. This is a quality control measure, to ensure your finished project functions properly.
Phase 4
  • Step 1: This is the finalizing of your project. In this step, we thoroughly check your project for both quality and performance. For websites, we will check your site on various browsers and internet connections, check the integrity of all links and images. For multimedia, we will test for usability and platform issues. Only after this rigorous testing, will we more on to the wrap up. It is not uncommon to uncover errors at this stage. We will work quickly and closely with you to make any last changes or edits for a properly working site.

  • Step 2: Project wrap up includes things such as: complimentary training on ecommerce shopping cart administration, content management systems, or other custom programmed systems, delivery of the project on another medium such as CD-rom, or discussing a maintenance agreement or marketing plan.
Phase 5
  • Step 1: In this final phase we take your website "live" on the internet, give it one more go-through and will consider the project 100% complete. We will be available to answer any post-deployment questions you may have.

Special Considerations:

As every project is unique, unexpected things can happen during the process. We do our best to avoid delays, miscommunication, and errors with any part of the project. If it does occur, we will work closely with you to ensure that you are satisfied with the finished project.
