In the early days my exposure to computers came in the form of playing around on the Apple II in grade school or playing early video games. It wasn't until college that I really got over the self-imposed phobia of actually owning a computer. I broke down and bought a PC to start writing music.
Having grown up with a mother who teaches classical piano, making music on the computer was a natural progression. Now I use both PC and Mac and an array of software and external hardware to compose. I've written hundreds of tracks and loops in the last 8 years.
In 1995 I graduated from UCLA School of Art and was first introduced to digital design while working at a duplication house. Although I never stopped making music, I started using programs like Photoshop, Illustrator and 3DS Max and spent a couple years trying to get "in" to the video game industry. In 1999 I finally made JV Media Design my full time job.
