Your metholodgy is very simple but effective. I have tried same thing many times while designing for print media, and found it effective. Mostly clients accepts/selects the design at first. The next step for me is to figure out what to do when none of those first three steps work!!! I think sometimes as a designer you can just get "designed out"! Lucky for me the weekend is only 1hr away, hopefully I will be fresh and ready to tackle my project again with new inspiration monday morning! I totally agree, I am having this problem right now and hence found your blog trying to seek an answer!

The next step for me is to figure out what to do when none of those first three steps work!!! I think sometimes as a designer you can just get “designed out”!
